Exploitation Field of Architectural – Construction Stone „Selca“

The exploitation field of architectural-construction stone “Selca” is located in the eastern part of the island of Brač, north of the settlement of Novo Selo, approximately 1 km away. The exploitation field encompasses two deposits, “Glave” and “Glave – West”. The terrain of the “Glave” and “Glave – West” deposits is morphologically hilly, with elevations ranging from 235 meters above sea level to 270 meters above sea level. The surface of the terrain is bare, with surface karstification and some maquis vegetation. The deposit is characterized by meter-scale layering of the rock mass (sometimes separated by fractures), and measured and exposed bedding planes with a dip of 60/8.
